Patti Samper is a multi-national artist born in Bogota, Colombia, and is also French and American.
Patti attended New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, where she majored in Photography and Romance Languages (84-88). While a student at NYU, Patti co-founded Bear Records, an indie record label, and where she also executed the album cover designs with the artists. Patti continued to live for many years in NYC, and later in Paris, working as a commercial photographer and creative director in the music and fashion industries.
Upon returning from France, Patti executed a Master Pastry Chef diploma from the French Culinary Institute (Int’l Culinary Center) in New York City. She won a stage at Le Bernardin in New York City (2005). After completing her stage and studies, Patti launched Patti*Cakes, Ltd., an award-winning, custom cake company. This momentous event in Patti’s life was the catalyst between photography and painting. Patti enjoyed the artistry involved in creating unique designs coupled with hand-sculpted and tediously painted sugar flowers, as well as other decorative motifs.
In 2009, Patti began to study painting. She attended the Yard School of Art in Montclair, New Jersey, followed by The New York Academy of Art in New York City, where she studied classical drawing and painting.
Patti’s studio is located at the Manufacturers Village Artists community in East Orange, New Jersey.
Patti lives with her husband and children in Montclair, New Jersey.
