Patti Samper is a multi-national artist from Bogota, Colombia. She is also French and American.
Patti attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, majoring in Photography. After NYU, Patti lived for many years in NYC, and in Paris, working as a commercial photographer and creative director in the music and fashion industries. She also co-founded the indie record label, Bear Records.
Patti Samper also holds a Master Pastry Chef diploma from the International Culinary Center in Soho, NYC. She then executed her stage at Le Bernardin in NYC in 2005. Afterwards, Patti created an award winning, couture cake company named Patti*Cakes,Ltd. This part of Patti’s life was the catalyst between photography and painting. Patti’s designs afforded her the opportunity to demonstrate her artistry through her unique, modern cake designs and life-like, handmade sugar flowers.
While running her custom cake company, in 2010, Patti began her studies in painting. She attended the Yard School of Art, followed by The New York Academy of Art, studying classical drawing and painting for several years.
Patti uses photography, her computer, drawings and handmade templates as an essential part of her creative process.
Patti lives in Montclair, New Jersey with her family and pets.
In February 2019, Patti Samper will move her home studio to the Manufacturers Village artist lofts, located in East Orange, New Jersey.
